ConnectedDisciple (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a Christian community app for messaging, study groups, Bible reading, devotionals, and optional video calls. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The service is available at https://connectbibleapp.redirectme.net and through our mobile apps.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use ConnectedDisciple, we may collect:
- Account information: email address, password (stored by our authentication provider, not in plain text on our servers), display name, and optional profile fields such as bio and church.
- Content you create: direct messages, group/room messages, study notes and links you share, and similar user-generated content.
- Usage and presence: whether you are active, last-seen time, group memberships, and app navigation needed to run the product.
- Device and technical data: basic logs and identifiers needed for login sessions, security, and reliability (for example through Firebase Auth and app infrastructure).
- Video / voice call data: if you join a call, media streams are processed via our call provider (Agora) so participants can see and hear each other. We do not use call media to train advertising models.
- Notifications: if you enable notifications, device tokens or related identifiers may be stored so we can deliver alerts.
2. How we use information
- Create and secure your account (including email verification).
- Provide messaging, rooms/study groups, Bible and devotional features, and video calls.
- Show profiles and community presence to other signed-in users as designed by the app.
- Maintain safety, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- Operate, fix, and improve the service.
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Service providers (third parties)
We rely on infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies, including:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database (Firestore), and related backend services.
- Agora — real-time audio/video for calls.
- Bible / scripture APIs (when configured) — to fetch Bible text for reading features; these requests are not used to identify you to other users.
- Hosting — servers that serve the web app over HTTPS.
4. Sharing
Other ConnectedDisciple users may see information you choose to put in your profile and content you send in chats or groups. We may share data with service providers solely to run ConnectedDisciple, or if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
If you submit a report, we store the report, related identifiers, and any details you provide so we can review safety issues. Blocks associate your account with accounts you choose to block.
5. Data retention
We keep account and content data while your account is active. If you delete your account in the app, we remove your profile and associated personal content from our primary systems as described in the product (messages involving you, notifications, memberships, and your login). Backup copies may persist for a limited period before automatic purge. Logs needed for security may be retained longer when legally required.
6. Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account from Profile → Delete account. You must confirm with your password. This is intended to satisfy platform requirements for account-created apps and to honor your request to remove your login and personal data from ConnectedDisciple.
7. Children
ConnectedDisciple is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard providers and HTTPS for the service. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong unique password and keep your device secure.
9. Your choices
- Update profile fields in the app.
- Control device notification permissions in system settings.
- Delete your account as described above.
- Contact us with privacy questions or requests.
10. International use
Data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. By using ConnectedDisciple you understand your information may be transferred to those locations.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of ConnectedDisciple after changes means you accept the updated policy.
